Hollyhocks are often seen in European gardens. They are tall and have strong stalks, which make them a wonderful backdrop for shorter flowers.
For one-line-drawing, I usually start in the lower left-hand corner and I do not pick up my pen until I’m finished. I do not pre-draw or sketch first. My goal is to invoke the feeling of the flowers, and not try to meticulously copy the flower. After I made the drawings, I embellished some with a few more details .. yes I gilded the lily!
